Kabras going for nothing short of Prinsloo title, says Ayange

Coach Felix Ayange has made three changes with fit-again winger Derrick Ashiundu returning to the fold after a one-year absence due to a knee injury.

• Defending series champions Menengai Oilers have made two changes for the tournament. Herbert Ochieng' and Davis Nyaundi return to the squad, replacing Davis Otundo and Timothy Lugalia.

Following a one-month break, the national sevens circuit returns with the Prinsloo Sevens this weekend at the Nakuru Athletic Club.

Leaders Kabras, who won the Driftwood Sevens last month are in Pool 'A' alongside Kisumu, Homeboyz and Western Bulls.

Coach Felix Ayange has made three changes with fit-again winger Derrick Ashiundu returning to the fold after a one-year absence due to a knee injury.

Ayange will also give debuts to Eric Cantona, and Griffin Chao.

The bulk of the squad that did duty in Mombasa featuring Kenya Sevens stars Kevin Wekesa, Brian Tanga, Jone Kubu and captain Paul Abuto remains intact.

Ayange said he is confident his charges can replicate their performances from Mombasa.

“We have the momentum from Mombasa. The boys have trained well for the past fortnight and we are relishing the challenge,” said Ayange.

Gibson Weru's charges are looking for their first tournament win of the campaign and take on cross-town rivals Nakuru, Nondies and Catholic Monks in Pool 'B'.

Four-time champions KCB headline Pool 'C' and will take on Quins, Masinde Muliro University and Blak Blad.

The bankers have brought in Michael Wanjala to beef up their squad which includes regulars Vincent Onyala (the skipper), Samuel Asati, Elvis Olukusi and Brian Wahinya.

Geoffrey Okwach returns to the squad to the delight of coach Andrew Amonde.

"Geoffrey Okwach's return is a big boost for us. We know what he brings to the table. We are aiming for glory having emerged third in Mombasa. We have been training very well and ticking all our boxes. We expect a good show from the boys in Nakuru," said Amonde.

The top two sides from each pool qualify for the main cup quarterfinals with the semis and finals slated for Sunday.
