Kenya Lionesses head coach Dennis Mwanja will make four changes to the team ahead of the final match against Colombia in the WXV 3 tournament on Friday in Dubai.

Mwanja is set to start Lionesses Sevens' stars Grace Adhiambo, Judith Okumu, Phoebe Akinyi, and Michelle Akinyi in their must-win match against the South Americans.

The quartet came off the bench in the second half in Kenya's 18-12 defeat to Kazakhstan last Friday.

“We will make changes to the squad ahead of the final match. The Sevens players who were initially substitutes will now start. Remember when they came on in the second half against Kazakhstan, we looked very dangerous and scored two tries. We could have scored more if our ball handling was good,” added Mwanja.

The KCB assistant coach rued the first-half display which saw Kenya trail 15-0 at the interval.

“We made too many unforced errors to our opponents which they capitalised on to corner us. Our plan was to play a territory game where we play in their half during the first half but this never happened. However, we did it in the second half which proved too little, too late,” added Mwanja.

Stella Wafula and Prisca Nyerere scored the Lionesses' tries with Grace Adhiambo adding a conversion as Mwanja's charges earned a losing bonus point.

The former Kenya Sevens' International said with the changes and improvements in attack and fence, he is confident the team could get a positive result against Colombia.

“We have played Colombia before and we know they are very strong in the set piece so we will try and get parity up front in the forwards and play in the right areas of the pitch,” he revealed.

The tactician said they have to be efficient when they get to the opponents' 22. "Our strike rate in the red zone has to be better. We created a lot of chances but we could not finish. ”

Mwanja will name the Match Day 23 squad on Wednesday with the Captain's Run on Thursday.

Elsewhere, champions KCB face Nondies in the Impala Floodlit final on Saturday after posting contrasting semifinal victories over the weekend.

The bankers, who are chasing a 10th Impala Floodlit final, beat Menengai Oilers 41-21 while Nondies edged Blak Blad 20-14.  The final will be a repeat of last year's final which saw the bankers win 20-3.
