Mang’u Boys’ 15s head coach Dennis Munene has promised to return the national rugby 15s title to Central Kenya.

Mang'u beat Kitondo School 20-8 in a Pool ‘B’ encounter to proceed to the semifinals.

Their journey began with a resounding 17-3 triumph over Marafa on Tuesday. They face Lenana in the final pool match on Thursday.

“We're determined to bring the crown home this year. Our preparations have been thorough,” Munene affirmed.

“The game was competitive today. The opponents put their best foot forward but we gave them no room,” Munene stated.

He plans to rotate the squad against Lenana to give game time to his fringe players.

“I’ve been using all my players. The majority are in Form Two. I am utilising all the players at my disposal,” he stated.

Munene has on the East African showdown.

“We have a ‘Bomb Squad’ ready for the semifinals, aiming to secure our spot in the final and a chance to represent the country in the East Africa championships,” he observed.

He highlighted the importance of remaining vigilant, neither underestimating nor overestimating their opponents. Mang'u last won the title in 2010.

All Saints Embu are also through after victories over St Patrick’s Iten (27-8) and Kisii School (6-3).
