The National Sevens Series draws to a close this weekend with the Prinsloo Sevens at the Nakuru Athletic Club.

The question on everyone's lips is whether Quins can bag the 14 points required to win a first national title since 2012.

Pau Murunga's charges have been the most consistent team this season, playing in every semifinal of the five tournaments to sit top of the log with 97 points.

The Ngong Road outfit have won two tournaments — Kakamega and Mombasa — and look on course to end the 12-year drought.

However, there is work to be done with second-placed Kabras (88 points) and KCB (86) breathing down their necks.

Murunga's charges are in Pool 'A' alongside Zetech Oaks, Menengai Oilers and Mombasa RFC, guests.

The tactician has made one change as Leon Nyang' returns to a formidable side that has star players Amon Wamalwa, Lucky Dewald, Brian Ratila, Jan Remke and Herman Humwa.

Murunga has urged his charges to take one match at a time and enjoy themselves.

“ I want the team to stick to our structure and plan. Am confident we will come out on top. It's going to be a very fascinating weekend,” noted Murunga.

KCB have made three changes to their squad with assistant coach Andrew Amonde bringing in Felix Makokha, Elvis Namusasi and Levy Amunga after the injuries to Samuel Asati, Floyd Wabwire and Michael Wamalwa.

The bankers headline Pool 'B' where they meet Nondies, Mwamba and Nakuru.

Amonde was upbeat about his side's chances.

“Our chances are good. The boys are playing some great Sevens rugby. I know we came up short (second at Driftwood) but we go again this weekend. I hope we come out on top," said Amonde.

Blak Blad, the team of the tournament in Mombasa — where they finished third, hope to replicate that form when they face Catholic Monks and varsity sides Strathmore Leos and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

Prinsloo champions Kabras are in Pool 'D' alongside Daystar Falcons, Kabete Stallions and Kabarak University.

Coach Felix Ayange wants his side to improve their attack structure after misfiring in Mombasa.

“We never had consistency in attack at Driftwood. We have tweaked a few things and we hope we can go all the way and win the tournament," he said.
