Gachagua's message to Omanga ahead of Azimio Monday demos

The DP described Omanga as a hardworking person who helped UDA clinch presidency.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua gave Interior Chief Administrative Secretary Millicent Omanga a piece of advice ahead of Azimio's protests.

Speaking on Friday, Gachagua said that Omanga was at the forefront of campaigning for Kenya Kwanza in Nairobi.

The DP described Omanga as a hardworking person who helped UDA clinch the presidency.

"Millicent Omanga on Monday during demonstrations, put on jeans and rubber shoes and deal with people who are destroying properties," he said.

This is after opposition chief Raila Odinga announced that Azimio will carry out mass protests twice a week.

Raila declared that they will be taking to the streets every Monday and Thursday weekly.

The demos will commence next week.

"On the second phase we will begin protests on Monday and Thursday starting next week," he said.

Omanga is mandated with responding to issues touching on the portfolio assigned to the Ministry of Interior. 

She is to provide liaison with the National Assembly and Senate and on matters of common interest between the Interior Ministry and County government.

The former Nominated Senator was appointed as CAS for interior by President William Ruto.

She is one of Ruto's allies and a strong critic of Azimio leader Raila Odinga and his team.

Omanga unsuccessful vied for the Nairobi Woman Rep position in the August elections.
