Business owners subscribed to DStv business package will pay more beginning August 1, after service provider MultiChoice increased the subscription rates.
In a notice to its customers, the satellite broadcasting company said the commercial owners will now pay Sh2,875 for Stay Ultra package from the current Sh2,780, Sh2,150 for Stay Essential from Sh2,080 and Sh1,350 for Stay Basic from Sh1,280.
Those under Play Ultra, Play Essential and Play Basic will now pay Sh13,300, Sh8,500 and Sh4,900, respectively.
This is an increase from the current rates of Sh12,960, Sh8,280 and Sh4,790, respectively.
The new rates will also see Work Ultra and Work Essential subscribers pay Sh5,000 and Sh1,700 from the current Sh4,860 and Sh1,660, respectively.
Stay Segment Specialist Add-On package rates will attract an extra Sh10 to retail at Sh420.
The XtraView package that allows establishments to have three DStv decoders with the same number of channels at the cost of just a single monthly subscription will cost Sh2,700 from Sh2,600.
“DStv continues to offer value to its customers with a variety of packages to choose from to keep your guests, patrons, customers and staff informed, entertained and up-to-date,” MultiChoice said in a statement.
The DStv business work package is suited for schools, banks and government offices.
The Stay package is tailor-made for hotels, hospitals and multi-dwelling units, while DStv Play is designed for restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops as well as pubs.
Recently revamped in July 2021, the DStv Business package launched new value packages that are now packed with genre specific content that serves businesses and its patrons.
The new increased rates for the commercial class comes weeks after MultiChoice announced price increase for all DStv and Gotv packages, effective August 1.
Subscribers of the DStv Access will pay Sh1,300 up from Sh1,250 while those on DStv Family will pay Sh1,850 from Sh1,750.
DStv Compact customers will pay Sh3,500 from Sh3,300, DStv Compact Plus will pay Sh6,200 from Sh5,900 and DStv Premium will pay Sh9,900 from Sh9,500.
Those on GOtv lite will pay a constant fee of Sh199 per month.
Subscribers on the GOtv Max will pay Sh1,449 from Sh1,349, while the GOtv Supa bouquet will be charged Sh1,899 from Sh1,749.
Gotv packages for Lite, Value and Plus were however said to remain unaffected.
