The Scorpions stunned Harambee Stars 3-1 on September 9 before dispatching Burundi 2-0 four days later.
The event will feature sprints for the elite athletes, with the distances covered being 5km run, 20 km bike and the last run 2.5km for the duathlon.
“The tournament this weekend will be good for us to see where we are, in terms of several facets of play," Shujaa co-captain George Ooro said.
Kakamega Sports Club captain Ronald Omondi revealed that the course is in pristine condition and ready for the weekend challenge.
Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has assembled a 38-woman provisional squad for the two-legged qualifier.
“Good leadership will bring about balance. One needs to be seamless,” he said.
The annual regional championship has drawn teams from Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi and Rwanda.
Captain Michael Olunga, Alpha Onyango, and Rooney Onyango are all nursing knocks picked up at club level.
World Mountain and Trail Running champion Philemon Kiriago and silver medallist Patrick Kipng’eno are in the hunt for the overall title.
