Britam has unveiled Female Wellness Cover (Malkia), an affordable solution offering both medical and non-medical benefits to meet women's diverse health and wellness needs.

With premiums starting at Sh620 annually, the cover provides a cashback benefit after diagnosis of medical conditions such as cervical, ovarian, and breast cancer.

It also covers the treatment of skin-related conditions and artificial intelligence (AI) assisted pregnancy support for women.

It offers financial relief for some of the most critical health concerns women face today.

Upon the diagnosis of cervical, ovarian, or breast cancer, policyholders receive a lump-sum cancer cash benefit, helping to cover medical bills and living expenses.

A second cash payment is made when treatment begins, providing continued financial stability throughout the recovery process.

The policy also includes coverage for skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. The Britam Female Wellness Cover (Malkia) dermatology benefits encompass consultation fees, skin analysis, prescribed medications, and medically required cosmetic procedures, offering a holistic approach to skincare.

A key feature of Female Wellness Cover (Malkia) is its AI-powered pregnancy support, offering 24/7 guidance for expectant mothers.

This innovative system provides real-time advice on pregnancy care, mental health support, and reminders throughout the journey to motherhood, extending six months after delivery.

Women can access expert knowledge and support every step of the way.

“Female Wellness Cover (Malkia) stands by women through life’s toughest moments, offering peace of mind when it’s needed most. Whether facing a cancer diagnosis, managing skin conditions, or navigating the journey of motherhood, the cover ensures women have the support they deserve,” said, Evah Kimani, Acting CEO and principal officer, Britam Micro-Insurance.

In the unfortunate event of the insured’s death, the policy also offers a last-expense benefit to help cover funeral costs, providing peace of mind for the family during a difficult time.

Its affordability makes it accessible to women across various income levels. Premiums start at Sh620 annually for women aged 18 to 30, offering access to a cancer cover of Sh50,000, a dermatology cover of Sh15,000, and a last-expense benefit of Sh20,000.

For older women, premiums adjust accordingly, with maximum benefits reaching Sh500,000 in cancer coverage and Sh30,000 in dermatology coverage for women between 50 and 65 years of age.

With premiums that adjust according to age, the product is accessible to women across various income levels, ensuring protection at every stage of life—from early adulthood to senior years.
