Defence Cabinet Eugene Wamalwa has condemned the killing of the DAP-K parliamentary candidate Brian Khaemba's bodyguard.

Addressing the press after the incident on Tuesday, Wamalwa demanded the arrest of Khaemba's rival, Didmus Barasa.

"We were very saddened to hear of a report a shoot out at Chebukwabi primary school, involving the honorable Barasa, who we are told aimed his gun at our candidate, shot at his vehicle and unfortunately shot at Brian's boy guard," the CS said.

Wamalwa expressed his disbelief over the aide's shooting, saying he was with him two hours ago at Kimilili DEB Primary School.

He said they observed the voting process, before the CS left for Webuye West.

According to a police report, the two politicians got into an altercation, prompting Khaemba to step out of his vehicle.

"Barasa followed him in the company of four men and ordered them not to allow him(Khaemba) to leave the place but Khaemba's driver Joshua Nasokho defied the order and ignited the vehicle," the report reads.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Kimilili Subcounty hospital.
