Kirinyaga governor candidate Wangui Ngirici has expressed confidence in the election process.
Speaking at Kaitheri Polytechnic polling station in Kerugoya town shortly after casting her vote, the independent candidate urged her supporters to come out in large numbers to vote for change.
She termed the exercise as transformative and called on the voters to exercise their civic duty wisely.
"Today's exercise is very crucial as it will be a derteminant in how the county and the country will be in the next five years."
She said she would accept the outcome of the result as long as the exercise will be carried out in a fair and credible manner.
The outgoing woman rep further reiterated that her supporters would be hawk-eyed to ensure no rigging takes place.
The IEBC discourages such vigilance, but the outgoing MP noted it was crucial to ensure the law is followed and there is no chaos within the polling centres.
