Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo Hassan has retained two county executive members who worked under former Governor Muhammed Kuti.
Lawrence Mwongela who held the Agriculture docket has been re-appointed to head Tourism, trade, cooperative and Enterprise Development while Yusuf Dahir has been retained in the same position as Land, Physical, roads, transport, urban development, peace and conflict resolution executive member awaiting vetting by the County assembly.
The two are among the six-county executive members appointed by the governor including the county secretary and county attorney announced by the county boss on Tuesday.
The two reappointed are said to have won the hearts of many residents due to their performance in their earlier dockets
“Pursuant to section 44(2D) (b) of the county government act NO.17 of 2012, I hereby nominate Mr Dade Boru to the position of County secretary and head of public service. Further, I hereby nominate Hashim Mohammed Abdi to the position of County attorney,” Guyo said.
Abdullahi Jaldesa Bantincha was appointed to head the Finance and Economic docket, Ali Wario Sarite is the Water, Sanitation, energy, Environment and Natural Resources, and Aileen Kajuju Mungira was promoted from chief officer to Education, youth and Sports executive member.
Others are Yussuf Mohammed Galgalo as CEC Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries while Abdi Nyabure is the governor’s chief advisor, Abdi Haji Daud, Economic advisor among others.
“It is my sincere hope that this team will serve our county with purpose and distinction,” the Governor noted.
However, the governor left many with questions as he did not announce the executive member in charge of health services.
Guyo, who was the Nairobi county assembly majority leader is the first MCA since devolution to have won the Gubernatorial seat in Kenyan history.
Guyo trounced his closest competitor former governor Godana Doyo on a Jubilee ticket.
