Bungoma Diocese Catholic Church Bishop Mark Kadima has urged Kenyans and opposition leaders to give President William Ruto time to deliver on his campaign promises.

Speaking at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Webuye on Sunday, Bishop Kadima said it is too early for residents and opposition leaders to start the oversight role.

“We have just concluded the election cycle in August, and I appeal to the residents and opposition leaders to sit back and watch as he implements and puts his office in order,” he said.

Kadima said Kenyan politics is now mature, lauding leaders who were defeated in the August polls for accepting the election.

“We want to play mature politics and we don't want to blame others for nothing. Let's join hands and ensure that the hard economy is addressed,” he said.

Bishop Kadima asked residents to give time to elected MCAs, governors, senators and MPs time to deliver on their promises.

“Some people have complained about their newly elected leaders, let's stop frequent complaints and instead support them and work on their promises,” he said.

Kadima asked church leaders to keep praying for the country as Kenyans struggle with the hard economy.
