Vandalised hotel reportedly belonging to Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama

Protesters have vandalised a hotel reportedly belonging to Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama during the anti-government protest on Wednesday.

The demonstrators pelted stones and broke window glasses of a hotel in the populous Ponda Mali area.

The Nakuru Town West National CDF offices were also vandalised in alleged retaliation after Arama reportedly brandished a gun on Wednesday.

Trouble started at Industrial Area when the protesters allegedly mobbed the MP demanding handouts.

The MP allegedly drew a pistol and asked the protesters to either go home or return to their daily businesses.

Arama accused the police in the area of laxity saying that they should take stern action on the protesters.

The demonstrators had barricaded roads including sections of the Nakuru-Eldoret highway as early as 8:00 am.

They lit bonfires on roads leading to Central Business District and engaged police in running battles.

Most businesses in the area remained closed while school-going children stayed at home.
