Detectives on Friday noon raided Holy Ghost Coptic Church in Kisumu where they discovered found four graves within the compound.
The detectives raided the premises with the order following various claims that there were believers within the church believers who died and were buried within the premises as others were still being held captive.
The officers were accompanied by various health officers.
The officers who didn't want to be quoted assured that they will be back to the premises with a court order for exhumation.
During the raid, some sick people who were found within the facility were taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
However while speaking to the detectives, Father John Pesa dismissed the claims saying the allegations were from people who wanted to finish him and his church.
He said the graves in question belonged to female believers, sisters, who were at the church and had requested to be buried there upon their death.
"We have other churches doing the same, ours is not an exception."
He also stressed that they don't hold people captive at the church adding that those normally taken to the church, their family do so willingly.
"Sick people are brought here for healing and some after healing return to their homes, this includes even those with mental cases," he said.
This raid comes months after the Senate Adhoc committee investigating the proliferation of rogue religious organizations raided the church.
Led by the committee's vice chairperson Shakila Mohamed, the group on June 25, rescued eight patients from the church who were allegedly there for prayers.
Senator Mohammed said they decided to raid Fr Pesa's church after getting information that a number of sick people are detained within the church premises.
She noted that the church is not allowed to detain the sick.
