In a significant move to advance emergency medical services throughout the country, Emergency Plus Medical Services (E-Plus) has re-launched its ambulance services in partnership with the Kakamega County Government.
The ceremony, held on Monday, marked the unveiling of 12 brand new ambulances, including Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support units, to serve all 12 sub-counties of Kakamega County.
The event was graced by H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa, Governor of Kakamega County, Dr Abbas Gullet, Chairman of the E-Plus Board, Susan Ng’ong’a, Managing Director of E-Plus, and other senior E-Plus and county officials.
In his address, Dr Gullet emphasized the impact of the expanded services on the local healthcare system.
"Our partnership with Kakamega County has led to significant improvements, including reduced hospital overcrowding and enhanced referral systems. Our strategic deployment of ambulances will further improve emergency response times across the county," Gullet said.
The new ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and are staffed by highly trained medical professionals, ensuring round-the-clock advanced life support.
"Our commitment is to provide world-class emergency medical services to all Kenyans, regardless of location or socio-economic status," Dr. Gullet affirmed.
Governor Barasa praised the initiative, acknowledging the critical role of E-Plus in improving healthcare access.
"This collaboration underscores our commitment to ensuring that healthcare is a fundamental right for all Kakamega residents," he said.
The event concluded with a pledge from E-Plus to continue delivering high-quality emergency medical services and to strengthen the county's referral system.
"We look forward to serving the residents of Kakamega County and providing them with the best possible emergency care," Dr Gullet concluded.
This re-launch marks a significant advancement in healthcare provision in Kakamega County, promising better health outcomes and a more resilient emergency response infrastructure.
