The British Army will continue training in Nanyuki after the country signs an agreement with Kenya.
Parliamentary Defence Committee chairman Ndung’u Gethenji said the UK and Kenyan governments are deliberating before the Defence Cooperation Agreement is tabled in the National Assembly.
He expressed confidence that MPs will adopt the Kenya-United Kingdom Defence Pact to allow the British soldiers to continue training in Nanyuki, Laikipia county.
Speaking at his Tetu constituency on Monday during an inspection of roads, Gethenji said the agreement and outcome will be in the interests of Kenyans.
He said the committee will start discussions immediately after recess and collect public views before compiling the report.
