Limuru law court will hold the first ever open sessions to enlighten residents on its procedures.
Court users committee chairman Paul Ngugi said the session will be held on June 3 at the Teachers Metropolitan house in Limuru town.
On Sunday, Ngugi said the court will visit the three subcounties of Limuru, Ndeiya and Lari.
Ngugi said dates for open court session in Ndeiya and Lari will be communicated later.
The open sessions will allow members of the public to ask magistrates and court operators questions regarding case procedures and timelines for a verdict.
“The aim is to allow the members of the public to interact with the judicial officers. They ask them questions and be advised accordingly,” he said.
Limuru senior principal magistrate Jared Magori, senior resident magistrate Caroline Mugo and resident magistrate Fred Koome will participate in the open courts.
Other government officials from different departments have also been invited to offer more awareness.
Koome said they hope residents will understand children cases, saying there are so many in the three subcounties, who are suffering in the hands of cruel parents.
He added that, some parents have been punished because for child neglect.
“Children are our responsibilities, and its so sad when you see someone being taken to court because of their children,” he said.
