Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi concedes

Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi has conceded defeat after losing to newcomer Edward Muriu.

Nduati, an engineer, was elected in 2017 and was defending his seat on a Jubilee party ticket

Nduati who conceded through his social media forums said, "I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for the chance you accorded me to serve you as your MP for the last five years”.

“Together, we have accomplished notable milestones that have contributed to the development of our great constituency. I wish you all a very bright future."

Nduati was a staunch defender of the Jubilee government and vehemently campaigned for it across the county together with former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.

His supporters however flocked to his social media forums to express their shock and displeasure, hailing him for his humility and the numerous development projects that he lobbied for in the constituency.

Another supporter, Dorris Njoroge, vowed to never forget the accomplishments he has achieved in his tenure.

Catherine said, “You gave it your best. You have set very high standards. We, the education fraternity, will forever remain grateful for ensuring our children got admitted to their schools of choice”.

His CDF chairperson Evanson Muiyuro who had been picked as former Water principal secretary Wairagu Wa Maai’s running mate also took the opportunity to thank locals for supporting him for the position.

Muriu, a lawyer, currently serves as the Secretary in charge of legal affairs in the UDA party.

In the same constituency, Ithanga MCA Sammy Mwangi was trounced by nominated MCA Alex Ndunda who was vying through the PNU party.
