Magarini subcounty leaders have criticised the national government for failing to kill the rogue lions and hyenas that killed a 10-year-old girl.

The KWS has been accused of laxity. MP Harry Kombe and three MCAs threatened to mobilise residents to kill the animals. They said the lions have terrorised locals for two months.

Lions have killed more than 100 cattle in the past three weeks. Kombe yesterday gave the KWS seven days to get rid of the lions. He spoke during a meeting with security officials.
