Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has trashed allegations claiming that there are plans by the government to privatise the port of Mombasa.

He termed accusations as mere propaganda and baseless.

He accused a section of politician of seeking to cause confusion and division in government.

Mudavadi said nobody was going to take the port.

"The port will always be an asset-based here and belongs to the government and its people," he said.

Mudavadi spoke during the marking of 100 years of Waa Boys School in Matuga, Kwale County.

He said the government is keen to expand the port operations and invest effectively in job creation and economic transformation.

He said President William Ruto has been busy looking for various investors for investment and development.

Mudavadi said the government of Kenya in partnership with Japan has been doing some port expansion to improve its operations.

He said Mombasa Port can't grow if the government does not invest in it.

"How are we going to prepare ourselves to compete with Dares Salaam, Dubai and Djibouti," he said.

Mudavadi also criticized the opponents for rushing to court amid the bi-partisan talks and complaining over everything.

He said it doesn't add up that the opposition proposed for talks yet they are questioning why the government is funding the exercise and bringing a lot of controversy.

"We don't understand why we would want dialogues and at the same time go to court," he said.

Mudavadi said the national dialogue is an internal matter and belongs to Kenyans hence no need to involve foreigners.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary said those rushing for court interventions all the time are misusing constitutional rights.

He said some leaders indirectly referred to Raila Odinga that they only wanted to use the court to hide from their election losses.

Mudavadi urged leaders to unite and support Ruto to deliver instead of fighting development.

He said the Kenya Kwanza government has plans to transform the economy and improve the lives of every Kenyan.

Mining CS Salim Mvurya said there is no single day that Mombasa port will be sold to foreigners.

He told Coast residents to have trust in Ruto because he is trying to deliver what he promised during campaigns and in his manifestos.
