Kibwezi MP Mwengi Mutuse has called on Kalonzo Musyoka to urge the the Kamba community to support the government.

The MP said time had come for the Kamba community to rethink its political stand and support President William Ruto’s government in order to enjoy development in better roads and water provision.

He said the only way the Kamba community could reap big in terms of development from the huge budget held by national government was by supporting and working with the government in power.

“We recently passed a national budget of Sh3.4 million. The 47 governors get 15 per cent while the rest remain under the President of Kenya who has the say on which development projects should  be funded," Mutuse said.

The legislator spoke on Sunday when he presided over a fundraiser in aid of the completion of the African Inland Church Kora Township in Mwingi North subcounty in Kitui county, where he was hosted by area MP Paul Nzengu.

“Tell Kalonzo I was within his home area and I asked you to advice him to came to terms with reality and bring the Kamba community to William Ruto’s side,” Mutuse said.

The fundraiser held less that 15km from Kalonzo’s rural Tseikuru village rural home helped to net Sh1.34 million.

“For you to benefit from development you must rethink your current hard stance politics.

You have to change tact. I have no problem with Kalonzo Musyoka  but there is need to make the right political moves for the larger Kamba community’s to benefit,” he said.

The MP said that Kalonzo  would be conveniently be used by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Mutuse said that in the past Kalonzo was shortchanged by Raila during the handshake. He was not picked as Azimio’s presidential running mate for last year’s general election despite his credentials.

He predicted that President Ruto will easily retain the presidency in the 2027 polls and should Kalonzo join the Kenya Kwanza alliance he stood to benefit  more. He said currently he was in the losing side.

“If  Ruto managed to floor a team of  then sitting President, former Prime Minister and former vice president, 21 Cabinet ministers and the deep state, now that he is the President,  he will easily win the election in 2027,” MP said.
