Kaiti Mp Joshua Kimilu has urged the State to consider fairness in the distribution of resources to Kenyans in order to embrace peace.
Reacting to the ongoing l demonstrations led by the Gen Zs, Kimilu said dialogue may not solve much but rather rectify the issues of transparency.
The second-term MP said the ongoing protests were highly fueled by the 'shares' narrative driven by some of the senior officers in the country.
"We need fair distribution of resources and value for all citizens," Kimilu said.
"I voted No to finance bill. We need a peaceful country because we all pay taxes by exercising equity," noted Kimilu.
With the demonstration going for the third week now, Kimilu said less will be achieved if no tangible action is delivered by the state to calm the wrath of Kenyans.
He spoke this while officiating the distribution of bursary cheques worth Sh68 million at Mukuyuni on Tuesday with Sh31 million set to go to colleges and Universities.
A total of 22,000 students drawn from secondary schools, students with full scholarships and higher learning institutions are set to benefit.
However, he noted that the delayed release of capitation has derailed so many projects in institutions calling upon the government to ensure timely disbursement.
He urged all Principals to have a notice board to pin the names of beneficiaries for purposes of transparency.
"Let each parent whose student has benefitted from the bursary locate their names on the board to ensure no cheque delays its delivery to school," added Kimilu.
