Police in Makueni are investigating an incident where a man is suspected of having killed his wife and committed suicide in a rented room at Bangladeshi Estate, Kathonzweni Subcounty.
The man allegedly clobbered the spouse with a blunt object on the head killing her and later hanged himself.
The two bodies were discovered by members of the public who followed a foul smell emanating from the rented house.
The woman's body was found on a sofa set and the husband’s was hanging from the roof with a rope around his neck.
The bodies were moved to the Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation.
Bernard Rono, a criminal investigations officer in Makueni, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
"We have initiated investigations to establish the motive of the killing," Bernard Rono said.
