A Kenya Defence Forces soldier is nursing serious stab wounds after being attacked by a vicious gang on Waiyaki Way in Nairobi.
Police found the victim bleeding heavily from his left biceps while lying on the side of the road, following the July 17 morning incident at Dam View Bus Stage.
The soldier had just arrived at the stage and was waiting to catch a matatu heading towards the city centre when the thugs accosted him.
They overpowered him as he attempted to defend himself and then fled the scene after inflicting the wounds.
The soldier, who lost his mobile phone during the encounter, received emergency care at Eagles Hospital Kangemi before being referred to Forces Memorial Hospital for further treatment. The police said they are pursuing the suspects.
In another incident, Charles Moranga Makwaro, 61, was fatally stabbed during an argument at a bus stop in Narok North.
The deceased was waiting for his wife to be dropped off by a boda boda operator, who turned violent and stabbed him in the leg after a nasty argument.
He was taken to the Narok County Referral Hospital, where he was confirmed dead during treatment.
In other news, police are probing the death of a 54-year-old man in Teso North, Busia County, who was knifed during a suspected love triangle.
Police discovered Desmond Omoit's body on the roadway outside Kakurkit High School in Moding, just hours after his death on July 15.
A man accused the deceased of having an affairwith his wife.
The man said he attacked and stabbed the victim after he found him and his wife in a compromising situation.
The woman escaped before being attacked.
Police transferred the deceased to Kocholia Sub-County Mortuary for a post-mortem.
