Embu MCAs might not attend next week’s conference on Devolution in Kisumu because they do not have money for their expenses.

The MCAs said they have not received their March salaries.

The representatives, who on Thursday adjourned assembly sittings until April 28 to attend the conference, said they might not go because they do not have cash.

Speaking while debating the adjournment motion, majority leader Andrew Musakwa said the representatives lamented they have no money for fare, accommodation, food and other expenses.

The representatives said they are broke.

They asked the assembly public service board to get money from the executive for their fare and per diem.

Kagaari South MCA Robert Ireri questioned how will representatives will prove they went for the conference during reimbursement if they cater for their expenses to Kisumu.
