New airstrip to open up Elwak town

The remote town of Elwak in Mandera South subcounty will open up after an airstrip was opened yesterday.It is on a 10km stretch with a two kilometre-long and 30 metres-wide runway.Mandera Governor Ali Roba said the airstrip is part of projects aimed at easing movement of people and goods.He said devolution has brought development at the grassroots.

MILESTONE: Leaders open the airstrip yesterday.

The remote town of Elwak in Mandera South subcounty will open up after an airstrip was opened yesterday.

It is on a 10km stretch with a two kilometre-long and 30 metres-wide runway.

Mandera Governor Ali Roba said the airstrip is part of projects aimed at easing movement of people and goods.

He said devolution has brought development at the grassroots.

Roba praised residents for supporting projects.
