The Illuminati sect is carrying out mass recruitment of schoolchildren and dropouts in Kisii county, a Catholic priest has said.
Speaking in Kisii town yesterday, Fr Lawrence Nyaanga urged parents to monitor their children’s movements and look out for strange behaviour.
“I have told police to flush out the sect’s officials and destroy their hideouts to save our children’s future,” he said.
The cleric said the sect’s members have agents using secret offices in Kisii town.
“Sect officials give students rings to wear on the neck and hands as a mark of identification and allegiance,” Nyaanga said.
“They instruct them to take photos of their relatives and buildings for rituals.”
Nyaanga said the youth post the photos on the internet and are instructed to recruit more members into the sect.
“The sect officials promise to buy the recruits news cars and build them magnificent homes to lure them to stick to the sects,” he said.
The priest said some youths who renounced the sect confessed and reformed.
