A 25-year-old woman was killed by unknown people under unclear circumstances at Kamwala village in Boya sublocation, Ndhiwa constituency on Wednesday.

Christine Auma was killed by suspected criminals who broke into her kitchen where she was cooking on Wednesday night.

Auma was cooking when her husband and relatives were in the sitting room of a separate building waiting for supper.

Assistant Chief Milton Kawino said Auma’s husband heard a loud bang on the kitchen door before they rushed to find out what was happening.

“They arrived at the scene and found the body in a pool of blood. Her head was missing from the body,” Kawino said.

Upon looking at other parts of the kitchen room, the husband found the head of his wife lying separately from the body.

“The suspected gangsters seemed to have beheaded the woman using a panga,” the administrator said.

Kawino said the assailants were not spotted during the incident.

The husband is said to have raised an alarm which attracted residents.

“They killed the woman and disappeared without being seen by anybody. We tried to ask residents if they could have any information but nobody saw them,” Kawino said.

Ndhiwa subcounty police commander Paul Rioba said they have started investigations and they are looking for the assailants.

“The assailants were not seen and the motive of the attack has not been established. We are investigating the matter,” Rioba said.

The body was moved to the Manyatta Kobodo mortuary.
