Two more Kisii leaders Tuesday rejected invitations to a goat ritual by elders to solve the alleged feud between them and Governor Simba Arati.

Senator Richard Onyonka and Woman Rep Donya Toto described the proposed animal sacrifice by Mwanyagetinge Heritage Elders Councilors as a 'mere joke'.

Speaking separately to the Star early Tuesday, Onyonka and Aburi said they had no plan to avail themselves of the planned ritual.

"Let's please tell our people to keep themselves busy in farming or business," he told the Star.

The county, Aburi stated, was going through a difficult political phase and thus no animal sacrifice was needed.

The Mwanyagetinge Heritage Council elders had Monday ordered Arati, the Senator, Woman Rep and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro to give six goats each for a planned sacrifice at Manga ridges.

They have set February 1, as the date they will undertake the ritual at Manga Hills.

Osoro had since turned down the elders' overtures describing the entire ritual idea as' grotesque, alien and bordering on idol worship'.

Onyonka separately weighed in terming the elders busybodies

"These are political busybodies out to frustrate our intelligence," he responded in a text

Aburi on her part termed the goat sacrifice a funded ' sideshow'.

"People should stop sideshows and work for the people who voted," she said.

"The elders speaking looked well organised. Who called them to present the goat thing? she posed.
