President William Ruto has called for unity, urging the country to move away from politics of tribalism and division.

While speaking in Migori on Wednesday, the president emphasized the importance of coming together as one nation with a shared destiny.

"Let's abandon politics of tribalism and divisions and focus on building a united government," he said.

He highlighted the efforts his administration is making to form an inclusive government, inviting the people to join hands in creating a unified country.

He mentioned the appointment of Finance CS John Mbadi, a son of Homa Bay CS Energy Opiyo Wandayi from Siaya, among others, saying they should unite.

The President also reflected on his long-standing relationship with Kenya's AUC chairperson candidate, Raila Odinga, acknowledging the significant role he has played in Kenya's democracy.

"You know Baba (Raila) and I have come a long way. I am supporting him," Ruto said.

He pointed out the recent event, where Kenya together with other EAC countries, joined hands in support of Raila's AU Chairman candidature

The President called for unity and cooperation as he sought to bring leaders and citizens from different regions and backgrounds to work towards a common goal of national development.

Mbaadi and Wandayi said Kenya has taken a new political turn, praising the president's decision to have an inclusive government.

While expressing the region's unwavering support for the current administration, Mbadi emphasized that their decision to join the government is firm.

"Our stand will remain firm because we decided to join you and we will support you all the way," Mbadi said.

He expressed his gratitude for the President's efforts in creating an inclusive government, highlighting the significance of the shift for the people of the region.
