The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned two top officials of the Homa Bay County Assembly to shed light on some alleged unethical conduct.
The anti-graft agency wants Speaker of the County Assembly Julius Gaya and acting Clerk Hanna Ager to appear before it and record statements over alleged misconduct.
Gaya and Ager are required to appear on Tuesday (October 8, 2024) for a probe at the EACC South Nyanza regional offices in Kisii.
In a letter by the EACC regional manager, Kipsang Sambai, the acting clerk is required to furnish the agency with the original application letter for the post of Speaker by Gaya.
A copy of the advertisement for the post of Speaker for the county assembly of Homa Bay for September 2022 is also needed.
Ager has also been directed to provide her personal file and appointment letter to be the acting clerk of the county assembly.
The EACC wants to be provided with minutes of the Homa Bay Service Board that appointed Ager as the acting clerk. The documents are required to facilitate the anti-graft agency in undertaking investigations.
Gaya and Ager will be guided by the EACC officials during the interview and recording process.
