Kisumu City is set to host the World Talent Federation Conference 2026, making it the first intermediary city in Africa to do so in the past five decades.
This exciting development was announced during the ongoing Nyanza International Investment conference within the Lakeside city.
The conference will be held in collaboration with the Lake Region Economic Block (LREB).
According Prof Humprey Oborah the World Talent Federation Secretary General, the event will attract a diverse range of delegates from across the globe.
This will include leaders, proffesionals, top footballers from United Kingdom renowned musicians among other dignitaries.
The event promises to showcase groundbreaking talents and innovative designs from researchers with a special focus on talent assessment and talent bases learning.
The introduction of technologies aimed at advancing talents and educational methods, he said will also be highlighted during the conference.
The key objective of the event is to promote tourism within the region.
Prof Oborah explained that partnership with Kenya Railways and Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS)would facilitate unique caravan tour.
This caravan, he noted will travel from Nairobi, through Hells Gate in Naivasha offering guests an opportunity to experience flamingo sightings at Lake Nakuru before heading to Kisumu.
Once in Kisumu, visitors will be treated to the serene beauty of Lake Victoria and its islands. He added that they also plan to involve those who have homes within Kisumu of brokers LREB region, allowing them to offer accompany generate income.
More than 1,500 delegates from around the world are expected to attend this event.

It will focus on project based partnership, inclusive football clinics, musical performance and support various initiatives within the community.
He stated that the conference will market Kisumu as a main world destination during the event with locals benefiting from circulation of money.
