Residents ‘avoid hospitals manned by rival clan medics’

Inter-clan conflicts in the Kerio Valley are frustrating the fight against cattle rustling, Elgeyo Marakwet leaders have said.

County commissioner Fredrick Ndambuki said rivalry between the Kapshoi and Kapsiren clans is so deep that members from one clan avoid hospitals where health services are offered by medics from the rival clan. The two have been fighting over a piece of land since August 2015.
