Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai on Tuesday made changes in his new administration to improve service delivery to residents of Turkana.
In his administration, Lomorukai has retained Chief Officer Augustine Lokwang in the Office of the County Governor and Chief Officer Esther Ikaru remains in the Ministry of Public Service, Administration and Disaster Management.
Chief Officer Stella Lochodo has been moved from Tourism, Culture, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources to Economic Planning.
Abdullahi Yusuf moves from Livestock Production, Veterinary Services and Fisheries and is now the Chief Officer of Finance.
Chief Officer Malcon Lochodo was retained for Health and Sanitation.
Lomorukai has been appointed in the acting capacity of John Korikel as Chief Officer for Infrastructure, Transport and Public Works.
The Chief Officer for Education, Sports and Social Protection John Tukei has been transferred to be Chief Officer for Livestock Production, Veterinary Services and Fisheries.
Jeremiah Apalia has been moved from Economic Planning to Tourism, Culture, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources as Chief Officer.
The Director for Trade James Lokwale has been appointed acting Chief Officer for Water Services.
Moses Natome has been transferred to the Ministry of Trade, Gender and Youth Affairs as Chief Officer.
Jacob Lolelea, currently County Chief Officer for Agriculture and Land Reclamation has been transferred to the Ministry of Lands, Housing, Urban Areas Management as County Chief Officer.
Chief Officer for Lands, Housing and Urban Areas Management Andrew Losuru has been moved to the Ministry of Education, Sports and Social Protection.
Abraham Losinyen and Rosemary Paringiro Nchinyei have both been deployed to the office of the County Secretary and Head of Public Service.
The County Accountants and Procurement Officers have also been reshuffled, with Governor Lomorukai directing that the changes take immediate effect.
“The changes are necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in execution of service delivery to the people of Turkana County,” Lomorukai said.
Lomorukai said the officers should plan to take up new portfolio assignments within 72 hours.
