MP Onesmus Ngogoyo has declared his support for Kajiado Deputy Governor Martin Moshisho’s gubernatorial bid in the 2027 general election.

Ngogoyo, who spoke at a medical fundraiser at the home of Mzee Naiballa Kisemei in Kajiado West subcounty, said his wish is to see Moshisho succeed Governor Joseph ole Lenku.

Present during the occasion were Governor Joseph ole Lenku, Moshisho, Sunkuyia, Senator Kanar Seki and several MCAs.

Governor Lenku steered clear of politics and concentrated on presiding over the funds drive.

All the other leaders present said they would be waiting for the governor to give direction ahead of the next general election.

Other leaders who have declared support for Moshisho’s gubernatorial bid are senators Seki, Peris Tobiko, MPs Kakuta Maimai and Samuel Parashina along with all the 25 elected MCAs in the county.

During the funds drive on Friday, Ngogoyo took head-on an unnamed leader in government who he claimed was dividing Kajiado leaders in UDA party for his selfish gains.

He said Lenku was elected Kajiado governor just like President Ruto, and elected leaders in the county should respect him.

"Lenku is supporting the President’s agenda in turning around the country’s economy. The same Lenku, who is from the Azimio coalition, has refused to be part of the destructive demos in the country fronted by the opposition,” Ngogoyo said.

"We the leaders of Kajiado, who are in UDA, have intact votes for President Ruto in 2027 for the good things he has done for the Kajiado communities, including the return of Amboseli National Park to the county,” he said.

The legislator said the man he alleged was funning division among Kajiado leaders will face formidable resistance if he attempts to seek an elective seat in the region.

"We have Moshisho here, whom we are preparing to be our next governor. It will be them and us in that coming election year. The President is at peace with our votes,” he said.

Moshisho thanked the leaders who turned up to help a fellow community member in need of medical care, adding that the funds will help foot radiotherapy costs for the sick.

"I'm so impressed by our people on how they are offering support to the needy people in the society,” Moshisho said.

He said events like fund raisers for the sick should remind leaders of the importance of unity and compassion within the county’s communities.
