The family of Rev William Mako, a resident of Kisaju in Kajiado County, is looking for him after he left home on Saturday and has not heard from him since.
His uncle, Mzee Joseph Taani said Mako left his Kisaju home on Saturday at 9 am.
He had told his wife that he would not be returning home as he would be going to attend a seminar at Olilalei Jesus Exaltation Church.
The Church, where he said he would be attending a seminar is in the direction of Kajiado town.
Eyewitnesses said Mako walked to the Athi River-Namanga Road on foot, then took a ride in a matatu heading to Kitengela town.
Taani said he never used his official car that Saturday.
"Mako owns a butchery in the Chini ya Mnazi area of Kitengela CBD."
“I met my nephew on that Saturday near Yukos as he headed to Kitengela town where he has a butchery. He was carrying some clothes in a bag, and he told me he would be attending a Church function in the Kangere area near Kajiado town later in the day,” Taani said.
Kisaju Assistant Chief Edward Maato said they made a follow-up of his movements and were informed that as soon as he arrived at his butchery, he asked one of his workers for a pen and two papers.
In the first one, he wrote the amounts of money he was owed at his butchery.
“In the second paper, he made a detail of all the money he owes his business associates,” the assistant chief said.
After writing, he is said to have sent a girl to go and type the two letters and also ordered two envelopes.
“He sealed the two letters in each envelope and handed the letter to one of his workers,” Maato said.
He gave instructions for the letters to be handed over to his wife, Nancy later that weekend.
The pastor is said to have called someone using his phone and sent him Sh20,000, and also sent his wife, Nancy Sh6000.
“He then withdrew Sh11,000 from a Mpesa shop and handed over his phone to be charged,” the nephew said.
Mako then called one of the bodaboda riders to drop him at the Kitengela bust station. He was dropped near the bus station, which is close to Kitengela police station.
According to the uncle, Taani, Mako left without his phone.
Taani said that on Sunday they reported the matter to Kitengela police after Nancy, Mako’s wife, called the officials of the Oloilalei church and she was told her husband never went there.
On Monday evening Taani, took a photo of his nephew to Kitengela DCI so it could be circulated in the country.
The family has handed over Mako’s phone to the police to help them in the investigation.
The last person Mako had contact with was his bodaboda rider at 5 pm on Saturday in Kitengela.
The rider is said to have returned to his base at Chini ya Mnazi after dropping his customer.
Kitengela police confirmed a report was made at the station about the missing pastor.
