Nandi governor Stephen Sang averted a potential confrontation with Gen Z in Kapsabet Town by joining them to receive their petition.

Hundreds of Gen Z  held a demonstration in the town demanding accountability of the county funds.

The group carrying placards critical to the county government had blocked the county office entrance where Governor Sang was holding an executive meeting.

As they chanted, Sang came out of his offices and faced the youths saying he was ready to address all their issues on his county affairs.

He then proceeded to an open-air field saying he was ready to "carry his cross" urging Gen Z to table all their grievances.

As Sang took over as the master of ceremony, he invited one after another to publicly read petitions against his administration and received both hard and soft copies.

A group of suspected hired goons almost disrupted the tense meeting but the police, however, in full riot gear helped to cool tempers as they turned very friendly to them.

They issued a 7-14 days ultimatum to address among them state of roads, acute shortage of drugs in the health facilities and employment among others.

Sang warned Gen Z against falling into the trap of goons out to use their genuine concerns to break into business premises to loot.
