No turning back on government of national unity - Ruto

President William Ruto has reiterated his intent to form a government of national unity that will bring all Kenyans together.

The president said his priority is uniting Kenyans, ensuring peace, growing the country's economy, create employment through development projects while at the same time-fighting corruption

Speaking in Nakuru during a development tour of the vast county, Ruto said the national unity government would invest in agricultural projects and ensure food security.

"This government of national unity that I am going to form will include everyone in moving this country forward and fighting corruption," he said.

He was in the county to inspect the construction progress of Nakuru Bus Park Nakuru Ultra-Modern Market in Nakuru City, Njoro Technical Training Institute in  Njoro Sub-County and  Keringet Fresh Produce Market in Kuresoi South Sub-County.

Ruto who was accompanied by Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua and a host of MPs said another mega-market would be constructed within the Central Business District.

“The government has repossessed a piece of land within the CBD that was meant for a market, besides this market that I am visiting today, another one will be constructed at the centre of the city to accommodate traders currently operating at Wakulima,” he said.

He added that besides the two mega markets, another 18 fresh produce markets would be constructed in all the 11 sub-counties of Nakuru county to ensure that traders operate in decent workplaces with proper sanitation,” he said.

President Ruto promised to establish Information and Communication Technology (ICT )Hubs in all the sub-counties for youths to engage in digital work and make money through remote jobs.

“I want youths to be using the well-equipped hubs to make money, the hubs can accommodate close to 300 youths,” he said.

The President, in collaboration with Nakuru Governor, Susan Kihika had set aside Sh2 Billion for the last mile electricity connectivity program.

He said more than 30,000 families in Nakuru would be connected to power through this phase.
