Vihiga County Commissioner Felix Watakila has asked DCI officers in his county to up their game in taming cases of security.

Watakila faulted the DCI for laxity over the rising cases of insecurity.

While addressing the press in his office, Watakila said DCI in Vihiga County have only one week to arrest key suspects in recent murders that have been taking place in Luanda town and Emuhaya respectively.

"Failure to that they should be parking and leave to other stations where their services might be required," Watakaila said,

The commissioner said locals within those two Sub-Counties have already expressed their concerns about how the DCI cops are conducting their investigations despite being given tips on where those criminals are hiding.

"If DCI officers in this County are not willing to arrest those criminals, they are free to park and leave and we have new investigating officers who will do their job as required," Watakila said.

"Why it is taking them too long to arrest those suspected criminals we are yet to understand."

Watakila says, while on his Barasa at Mulukhoro on 09/01/024, they were informed major suspects are in Manyulia, and Butere in Kakamega County, while others are in Siaya and Kisumu County respectively.

"So when we have such information from the public, why take so long to act?" Watakila questioned.

He said he gave out 150 names of the key suspects and their hideouts but the DCI unit has failed to flash them out.

The commissioner said failing to act on time is like protecting those suspects against the lives and property they are protecting.

"We are currently doing transfers on some officers who have overstayed in Luanda because they have been accused of coordinating with Criminals," he said.

Commissioner said so far, no suspect has been arrested for the recent crimes that have been taking place in Luanda town where five riders have been murdered in cold blood and their bikes taken.

Watakila's cry comes a few weeks after community policing Chairman Newton Osanya had said police officers within Luanda are so sluggish while responding to crime issues.

"Our officers are so first on chang'aa, and other things where they get bribes but when it comes to combat crimes very slow," Osanya told the press in a past interview.
