Bumula Member of Parliament (MP) Jack Wamboka is alleging that his aide was abducted in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) during the anti-finance Bill protest on Tuesday.

Wamboka's aide is identified as Rodgers Wangila Wabomba. The matter was reported at Bungoma police station OB No. 104/26/06/24.

In his address to the media, the Azimio MP reported that a search had been conducted in the entire city, mortuaries, hospitals and police stations but his aide had not been found.

“There is no need to abduct my aide, he is not the one who opposed the government’s punitive taxes, I’m the one who voted NO for this Finance Bill 2024, they should have come for me, not my assistant,” Wamboka said.

In Bungoma, youths led by Kennedy Mupalia, in their address to the media on Thursday, offered an ultimatum until today for the release of Wamboka’s aide.

Additionally, Mupalia said that youths are unhappy with the way the Kenya Kwanza government is running the affairs of this country.

He also cited the recent alleged mass abductions of the anti-finance bill protesters as inhumane and unacceptable.

“The government should not arrest those who rejected the Finance Bill, and stood firm with Kenyans,” he said.

Meshack Wabomba, his brother expressed disappointment for the abduction of his brother calling on the relevant security authorities to help in the search of their kin.

Wabomba said that the last time he spoke to his brother was at 11 am on Tuesday before the communication was cut.

“When I spoke to my brother he had joined Nairobi Gen Z in the anti-finance bill demonstration in Nairobi then suddenly all communication was cut until today,” he added.

“My brother is a family man, his wife and children depend on him for support, therefore we demand his release immediately."

The youths have also threatened to stage demonstrations if their colleague is not availed today.

Bungoma County Assembly MCAs led by Kimaeti ward rep, Jack Wambulwa have joined the youths in asking the relevant authorities to help in the search for the MP's aide.

Also present during a press briefing were Kabula MCA Vitalis Nyongesa, and Bungoma assembly Minority leader Antony Lusenaka among others.
