Kitale bishop forms committee to unite faithful in 'diaspora'

The bishop further formed the organization for spiritual nourishment, mentorship of students in colleges and universities.

Anglican Church of Kenya bishop for Kitale Emmanuel Chemengich has formed a group to bring together faithful who work outside his diocese but are locals of the area.

The Kitale diocese largely serves residents of Trans Nzoia county.

Residents who work outside the county will now be brought together under the Nairobi Diaspora Affairs Chapter which has been formed with the aim of bringing together Kitale diocese members living in the diaspora for the unity of purpose.

They can interact through the grop and reach out to one another whenever need be.

"The group formed for the purpose of resources mobilization and more so to succeed any group in leadership arena," Bishop Chemengich said.

The bishop further formed the organization for spiritual nourishment, mentorship of students in colleges and universities.

He said the stimulating discussions and proposals that the new committee will consider creating a new future of a vibrant and productive diaspora ministry to serve Anglican faithful from Kitale residing in Nairobi.

The newly elected officials for ACK Kitale Diocese's Nairobi Diaspora Chapter are Wycliffe Sudi Ekirapa who was elected chairperson and Jeremy Ochieng who is the first secretary general of the chapter.

Tom Tiriongo, Priscilla Okutoyi and Everlyn Simiyu were elected treasurer, vice chairman and vice secretary respectively.

The committee members are Julie Nabwera, Kennedy Ochieng , Samuel Kamau, Monica Etemesi and Benson Milimo.
