There was congestion of streets and bus stops in various towns around the country on the second day of school opening.
Countrywide, students continue to make their way to their various schools for continued learning which was halted in March last year due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The majority of learners reported to learning institutions on Monday.
The first term of 2021 will also see the first of the Grade five cohort, under the Competency Based Curriculum begin learning after three months of waiting.
"All the classes, including the 14 new Grade 5 learners and Form One Class, will start the First Term of the 2021 academic year on July 26,2021," Magoha said.
On Monday, Teachers Service Commission CEO, Nancy Macharia said that a total of 90,000 teachers have so far been trained on the Competency Based Curriculum.
Last week, Education CS George Magoha announced a reduction in secondary school fees due to the short nature of the 2021 school calendar.
National schools will pay Sh8,500 less while Extra-County and County schools will pay Sh5,500 less.
Magoha further warned school heads against hiking fees when schools reopen.
