Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday welcomed more defectors to the United Democratic Alliance party.

Nyaribari Masaba MP  Ezekiel Machogu was among the leaders who officially joined the UDA.

Machogu had already declared interest in the Kisii governor seat.

Other aspirants who joined UDA were Betty Maina (Murang'a Women Rep), Rebecca Lomong, Susan Chesyna and Nancy Chesire (Baringo Women Rep) and Anthony Waithaka (MP Makadara). 

" We promise a free, fair and transparent nominations exercise. There are no favourites," Ruto said.

In a statement, Ruto urged his allies to compete on ideas and on what they will deliver to the people.
