Police in Kisumu have intensified the crackdown on rogue boda boda operators. More than 300 motorbikes were confiscated in the operation.
This follows President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive to restore sanity in the sector after last Friday’s incident where a group of rogue riders attacked and molested a female driver in Nairobi.
So far over 50 boda boda operators have been arrested in the ongoing crackdown in Kisumu.
In Trans Nzoia, over 43 boda boda riders were on Thursday arrested by Kitale police.
Trans Nzoia West Deputy County Police Commander (DCPC) Peter Lobolia said the suspects will be arraigned.
"We have 43 riders in our custody," Lobolia said.
43 motorcycles were also seized in the operation.
