Mombasa governor-elect Abdulswamad Nassir and Kakamega's Fernandes Barasa were all smiles after they received their win certificates.

Nassir and Barasa both won seats on ODM tickets.

Nassir garnered 119,083 votes against his closest rival UDA’s Hassan Omar who got 98,108 votes.

Barasa, on the other hand, garnered 192,768 votes against his closest challenger Cleophas Malala of ANC who got 159,275 votes.

Leaders who accompanied Nassir included outgoing Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, former Kitui governor Charity Ngilu, Homabay governor Gladys Wanga, Women reps Fatuma Gedi (Wajir), Esther Passaris (Nairobi), Zamzam Mohammed - elect (Mombasa), MPs Babu Owino.

Others are Memusi Kanchori (Kajiado Central), John Mbadi (Gwasii), Naisula Lesuuda (Samburu), Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe), Badi Twalib (Jomvu), Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Mvita MP-elect Mohammed Soud Machele, businessman Suleiman Shahbal and Abu Joho, Mombasa county Assembly speaker Harub Khatri.
