ODM leader Raila on Wednesday presided over the official opening of Kigoto maize milling plant in Suba, Homa Bay county.
He was accompanied by Governor Gladys Wanga and other county officials.
"We in Azimio advocate for our Republic's 3rd liberation: the economic emancipation of our people via increased food security, job creation, agribusiness, value addition, and devolution," Raila said.
"I was delighted to open the Kigoto Maize Milling Plant in Homabay."
Raila commended Wanga and her administration for swiftly embarking on serving the people.
"They have served as a model for counties," he said.
In August, Wanga had promised to complete all stalled projects started by her predecessor Cyprian Awiti. Kigoto maize milling plant being one of them.
She said the projects were funded by taxpayers’ money and she would complete them to benefit residents.
The other projects were Arujo Animal Feeds and Homa Bay County Stadium.
