Security agencies have intensified patrols and made some changes in the public transport sector following recent attacks in Lamu.

All vehicles are now being escorted from Gamba, Tana River area to Lamu and no vehicles at night.

Multiagency teams including KDF, Special Forces, GSU and others are patrolling the Lamu-Garsen Highway.

This week alone, two attacks from suspected al Shabaab militants have left four people dead.
