President William Ruto on Thursday commissioned a police hospital at the Border Patrol Unit campus in Kanyonyo, Kitui.

The police service used a welfare fund collected for almost a year to start the hospital project.

With a contribution of Sh50 from each junior officer, the Administration Police Service started the construction.

The police hospital will be a huge relief for the service.

Services to be offered at the facility include outpatient, infant, mental and rehabilitative services, maternity, laboratory, pharmaceutical, dental health, critical care, surgical and mortuary.

 

The facility will also offer counselling services to the police.
