China Square was closed but reopened this week to traffic of customers who turned up in large numbers.
China Square is located at the Unicity mall along Thika Road.
When the outlet was closed, very few people walked into the mall despite it having other businesses therein.
Other traders within the mall described the outlet as the anchor tenant for their businesses.
"Like any other mall, they came on board as an anchor tenant. Without an anchor tenant, the business is always low for other tenants," John Maina who owns a food outlet at the mall said.
When the outlet reopened this week, customers were seen streaming in large numbers for shopping and others, out of curiosity came to see what the hype was all about
On Tuesday, many customers walked in specifically to visit the Chinese outlet.
