ODM leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday hosted the Muslim faithful in Nairobi for Iftar.

Taking to his Twitter account, Raila urged Kenyans to reflect on the Ramadhan values.

"Sharing a meal is always a great experience, especially when it's Iftar with the Muslim community," he said.

"Let us all reflect on the Ramadhan values of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and kindness as we continue working towards a more just society and nation. Saum Maqbul."

In attendance were Narc Kenya counterpart Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Roots Party George Wajackoyah, Governors Abdulswamad Nassir (Mombasa), Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi), Nominated Senator Hamida Kibwana Eugene Wamalwa and Jeremiah Kioni.

This comes a day after Defence CS Aden Duale accused Raila of disrespecting Ramadhan.

He said that the Azimio leader had no respect for the Muslim Community as he carried out demos during the Holy month.

"He (Raila) should have not held demos during Ramadhan. They held their demos during this month of difference, a month of peace.  They did their maandamano until the 20 days of Ramadhan. He should have respected the Muslim community from the beginning," Duale said during Iftar at the State House on Monday.
